Pilot To Co-Pilot...
Well, I'm off to a horse show for the weekend and I definitely can't go anywhere without my trusty co-pilot — Katie! Isn't she just the cutest thing you've ever seen? My furry companion makes traveling much more enjoyable, and she's way better than a GPS! Woof! I hope you all have a happy and safe (and perhaps creative?) Memorial Day weekend. I'll catch you on the flip side...

Art & Soul Radio... Tune in for Patti Mosca: Giving Permission, May 21st
Patti Mosca is a self-taught artist who learned the slow hard way to give herself permission to call herself an artist. In a dark point of her life she discovered that giving herself permission was just the answer she needed to find happiness and embrace her creativity. Her permission journal became the basis for the just released book, Permission Slips for the Heart and Soul (Storypeople Press). Patti is with us today to share her story of permission and the rewards it brings.
So please join us for an inspirational chat...

Nevada is Calling You!
A little over a month away folks... is our Las Vegas Art & Soul Retreat! Set in the beautiful Green Valley Ranch Resort, it's a little "Vegas away from Vegas".
Twenty minutes outside the hustle and bustle of the City of Lights, you'll get the more elegant version of fun and excitement while you enjoy the vast selection of Art & Soul's mixed media workshops.
This lovely venue has it's own casino pit indoors and it's very own "Strip" — a convenient outdoor walking & shopping district right outside the hotel — with no busy streets to cross! So when you're not making art... there's plenty to do closeby.
So if you haven't signed up yet, check out our amazing selection of Vegas workshops taught by our talented instructors and place your bets on joining us June 14-18. We guarantee you'll be a winner! Oh, and Mom's Day is just around the corner... so we don't mind if you drop a couple hints to hubby or the kids.... tell them Gift Certificates are available!

Art & Soul Radio... Tune in for Bridgette Guerzon-Mills: Sight | Insight, May 7th
Bridgette Guerzon-Mills is drawn to the inherent beauty and spirit of the natural world, and her artwork is a personal dialogue that reaches into the stillness of that spirit. Through both imagery and medium, Bridgette creates organic pieces that speak to the cycles of life, growth and decay, memory and the passage of time.
Her mixed media paintings incorporate moments captured by photographs with the richness of paint, creating a bridge between two worlds – the real and the reconstructed. By laying down layers of paint and pieces of photo transfers, papers or fibers she creates depth in both form and meaning. The canvas becomes a multi-layered surface that speaks to both the visual and tactile senses. This integration of diverse layers creates an intimate connection that invites exploration.
It is this insight and meaning and how where it comes from that we will discuss. So please join us for an inspirational chat...

An Outpouring of Love
As many of you already know, my mother recently passed away and, as with the death of any family member, comes an overwhelming feeling of sadness and loss. With today’s families scattered about the country, you don’t always have the support system you need when you need it. Or so I thought.
Working from home as an event organizer, I don’t have co-workers next to me to talk to about what’s going on in my life — whether it be the celebrations or the hardships. So when something big happens, there’s not always someone right there to share it with. I'm not the type to wax poetic on Facebook or my blog (although I do get on my soap box occasionally), and I had made no posts regarding my mother's health.
Therefore, I was amazed when little by little — as people learned of the news — heartfelt thoughts and supportive words started trickling in. Handmade cards from family, friends and many of you who attend Art & Soul started arriving. I was overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity of spirit in this very emotional period in my life. These beautiful cards and encouraging words helped lift me up and I realized that I am not alone. That you are my family. The bonds of which provided me that pillar of strength I so needed, just when I needed it most.
I wanted to take a moment and say thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for all your well-wishes, introspective words, graceful correspondence and stunning handmade cards. You may never know how much they meant to me.
Love,
Glenny
xoxo
